PodStak Accessible Bathroom Pods

blank

PodStak™ Accessible Bathroom Pods can be made to any shape or size to provide the facilities required within a given space. One of the beauties of the PodStak™ modular system is that it provides step-free access for wheelchair users. The structural elements of the system are in the walls and ceiling, so the floor is only 8mm thick.

Ideal for temporary installations or where it may be desirable to return the building to a former state after the requirement for the facility has passed. Manufactured in the UK from recycled glass composite material, the pods can also be fully recycled at the end of their lifecycle.

The pods can be either supplied assembled for installation in construction phase, or flat packed for retrofitting on site. This is especially relevant for older buildings with restrictions on modifications to the existing structure. Supplied with jackable and removable jockey wheels to make positioning of the pods quick and easy. Internal surfaces are pre-manufactured with a choice of durable finishes and require no grouting or other treatment. External surfaces can be plastered if required or decorated to blend in with the existing surroundings.

Fast, effective and lifestyle changing. The future is PodStak!

Requiring enough internal clear floor space for a wheelchair to make a 180° turn, accessible bathrooms must have either a 60” (152.5 cm) diameter turning circle or a T-shaped turning space located within a 60” (152.5 cm) square with a minimum of 36” (91.4 cm) wide arms. Doors should have a minimum width of 32” (81.3 cm) and cannot swing into the required clear space of the accessible bathroom. Clear floor spaces at fixtures and entry routes are allowed to overlap with the wheelchair turning space. Similar to other bathroom designs, accessible bathrooms have multiple layouts differentiated based on split or side fixtures and vary in size with minimal lengths between 8’4”-9’8” (2.54-2.95 m) and widths in the range of 5’4”-6’10” (1.63-2.08 m). Designs must comply with Document M category 2 Regulations in the UK. Overall bathroom sizes will vary based on the actual dimensions of bathroom fixtures. and space available to site the facility.
