Ultra Slide Sheets

Description

The Locomotor Ultra Slide Sheets are a fabric washable tubular slide sheet with a low friction inner surface allowing
an individual to be repositioned without the need to lift. The LOCOMOTOR ULTRA SLIDE SHEET is available in various
sizes and is used for a variety repositioning tasks. The multidirectional glide of the fabric allows a patient to be moved in
any direction and reduces shearing to the patient’s body.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Always ensure that any part of the patient not assisting with the transfer is on two layers of slide sheet.

Patient turning
Using an approved rolling technique, position the LOCOMOTOR ULTRA SLIDE SHEET under the patient making sure that
the hip and shoulder are over the slide sheet. Ensure central positioning to both bed and patient. To turn the patient
take hold of the top layer of the LOCOMOTOR ULTRA SLIDE SHEET and slide the patient across the bed and then roll the
patient back into the middle of the bed.
To remove the LOCOMOTOR ULTRA SLIDE SHEET, take hold of the bottom layer of the sheet and gently slide out from
beneath the patient ensuring that one layer of slide sheet is sliding against the other. Steady the patient as this is
performed.

Moving a patient up the bed

Position a LOCOMOTOR ULTRA SLIDE SHEET under the patient as described above, then,
using an approved handling technique, take hold of the top layer of the LOCOMOTOR ULTRA SLIDE SHEET and slide the
patient to the required position. Remove as above.
